BP is Clueless

I continue to watch in stunned amazement as BP continues its campaign of begging to be the #1 scapegoat for the coming storm of anger that will accompany the next wave down in mood and markets. Seriously, these are the best and brightest that the international elite produce in the "best" schools and "best" corporate training programs? Really?

I work(ed) for one of the most recognized brand-name companies in the US and evidence of the Peter Principle was so vast that only the volitionally blind could miss it (which included 99.999% of the employees).

Axiom #3: You always get what you pay for. In this sense, advancement in the modern corporation "pays" for ONE thing and ONE thing only: raw ambition.

In my experience there are four major attributes when it comes to work: 1) Raw Intelligence. 2) Memory. 3) Raw Ambition, AKA drive. 4) Aptitude for synthesis.

Those who get to the top of the corporate ladder invariably spike high for #3, often #2, not so much #1, and are LOUSY at #4 (which is the means by which intelligence and memory yield wisdom).
