Outta Here

FYI there will be no posts until Monday (at least). I am a volunteer for a FEMA urban search and rescue team and we are conducting a training deployment this weekend. Watch the markets on my behalf while I feast on MREs and do the night shift moving concrete around and conducting haz mat operations. Things seem to be unravelling fast. Gonna be a hot summer...

Moving concrete? Sounds like there is an interesting tale to tell.

How long have you been a FEMA volunteer?

Yeah, this was a WMD exercise. Everyone was talking about what the hell we'll face if a significant hurricane hits the Gulf. Two schools of thought - one it would disperse the heavy oil below the surface and dilute it enough to avoid signficant problems or it would be a freaking disaster as sheets of heavy oil coat blown down buildings and property hundreds of yards, if not a few miles, inland.
