Ire in Eire

When Congress ignored the 99% of their constituents who called to say "no" to the bankster looting under TARP, TALF, et al, we Americans rolled over and took it from the corruption machine.

When the Irish Parliament tried it, their citizens stormed the building. Which represents the actions of a people who would be free?

Banks protesters storm Irish parliament

Protesters have stormed Ireland's parliament during a march against government plans to inject billions of euros into the country's banks...

Two cheers to the Irish protestors! And three cheers to the Irish police for NOT following the lead of the US police who would surely have been pepper-spraying or severely beating or mass-arresting the protestors.

You nailed it, Greg B. In the US we know what happens to those who "protest too much." Tasers, pepper sprays, beatings and arrest are the stuff of the Land of the Free, and the Home of the Brave.

The cognitive dissonance within American minds must eventually find release. I'm not looking forward to that day (because I haven't found a deep enough hole in which to ride out the spasm...anyone know where there's an idle mine or a nice cavern for sale?).
