Keeping Both Eyes Open As The West Stumbles Into A Chaotic Brave New World
Note when these trends turned upwards...
Google Trends search terms: pawn shop
Google Trends search terms: buy ammo
Have a great weekend.
UPDATE, thanks to a comment from cjb, I checked out the search term "victory garden," with the results below:
amazing on "buy ammo". nothing yet detectable for gardening and seeds.
I hadn't checked those. Interesting. You did, however, inspire me to check out "victory garden" which looks a lot like that "buy ammo" chart. Thanks for the comment.
Nothing for gardening and seeds, but look at the spike for "vermicompost" which is the key ingredient in low cost, sustainable farming...
Thanks Michelle. I think I need to dig more into this gardening theme. I wonder if there is some subconscious "need" or drive to turn to gardening and or hunting when mass mood goes negative?
Thinking about it, my comment above is unfounded. "Vermicompost" may just have gained exposure in recent years in the face of escalating fertilizer prices. That could also plausibly explain the bump.My grandmother had to stand in long lines for food coupons back in the 1929 depression. For me it was a logical conclusion of a basic need, which I could only make only once I started opening my eyes as to where we are heading. Having said that, your comment has just brought to memory my observation of how many articles in women's magazines I have seen lately in growing vegetables.. But perhaps when you become aware of brown cars, you see them a lot more often? (interestingly, take a look at www.porsche.com after reading Mark Galasiewski's article on 'Social Mood and Automobile Colors'!)Sorry I think I've left more questions than answered. :)
